A Regulation Issued at Year’s End
There are indications that work on the Government Regulation in lieu of Law on Job Creation began in mid-2022. The government was seeking a way around a Constitutional Court verdict so that the Job Creation Law could quickly go into effect.

HELD at 10:30am at the State Palace, an invitation-only meeting led by President Joko Widodo on Friday, December 30, 2022, was convened to go over the progress of the Government Regulation in lieu of Law (Perpu) on Job Creation. Speaking to his aides, Jokowi asked about the right time to issue the regulation that would replace the Job Creation Law.
