PERHAPS not many people would dare to "gamble" with their fate like Suhardiman did. At an age no longer considered young—about 37 years to be exact—this man with Sambas Malay, West Kalimantan, ancestry took fate into his own hands by jumping into a new life.

Quitting his work at a rubber refinery in Siantan, Pontianak, to which he had devoted himself for 14 years, he proceeded to enter a new profession as a restaurant
