Protection for Rice and Sugar

FOLLOWING negotiations that have lasted more than two years, it seems as if Indonesias dream of domestic protection for rice and sugar will become a reality. Mari Elka Pangestu, the Minister of Trade, has indicated that both these commodities will be included on the list of special products to be discussed at the World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, in March next year.
