The government will soon repay the rest of its IMF debt, but the list of new patients is growing longer.

THE International Monetary Fund (IMF) seems to be facing a gloomy future. At first glance, this appears to be the situation with this multilateral financial instutution, after several countries accelerated their debt repayment. The interest from loans to countries that have been hit by crises will shrink in line with this accelerated debt repayment.
