THE plan of Kereta Api Indonesia or KAI to send worn-out light rail transit (LRT) train wheels to the lathe workshop of Light Rail Transit Jakarta in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, has been canceled. A similar plan to bring them to the lathe workshop of Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, was scrapped as well. KAI’s management decided to repair the Jabodebek LRT wheels in its own workshop located in Bekasi, West Java.
