Tangguh Survives the Rumors

BP Indonesia has denied all rumors about selling Tangguh gas to China's Fujian. Are the government's receipts really that small?

No fewer than six memoranda of understanding, worth hundreds of millions of US dollars, were signed by the Indonesian and Chinese delegations in Nusa Dua, Bali, last Wednesday. There was more to come, though. The next day, a 25-year contract worth US$8.5 billion was signed, for the supply of gas from Tangguh field in Papua, to Fujian province in Southeast China.
