Even Angels Might Fail

The international standards applied at maritime academies in Indonesia have resulted in many drop-outs. Hundreds of cadets are disappointed, including those of the Indonesian Maritime Academy (AMI) in Medan who burned down their campus last week.

WAHNI SANTY promptly fainted when she couldn’t find her name on the list of examination results posted on the notice board. This was her seventh failure since she entered the Medan AMI back in 1995. The announcement dashed her hope of ever becoming a sailor and plying the seven seas.
