Yosefa Alomang's environmental and human rights efforts have recently earned significant attention internationally. Yosefa, an indigenous Amungme, from Timika, Irian Jaya, has spent almost half of her life fighting for the rights of the Amungme people against mining giant PT Freeport Indonesia. Last Monday the San Francisco based Goldman Environmental Prize institution recognised Yosefa's efforts with the Goldman Environmental Prize, a prestigious
