Selma and the Hijackers

Death knows neither space nor time, as one poem has it. But Selma and the hijackers chose their time and place to die.

It was a consciously chosen demise. A black cloth or a plastic hood might have been used to cover Selmas head before the knot of a rope was garlanded around her neck. Then the floor on which she was standing shifted apart. With a jerk Selmas body was pulled downward and her dead body dangled on the rope. She had chosen to die on the gallows. Selma had decided she would rather not have her case reviewed with the prospect of a lighter sentence but
