Jonathan Pradana Mailoa is receiving praises galore because he is the shining star in a nation that is going through so much darkness: earthquakes, floods, famine and that endless disease called corruption. Indonesias reputation went up a notch through the brilliance of this 16-year-old, when he became the absolute winner of the 37th International Physics Olympics, held in Singapore and participated in by 86 countries.

Yet, all this attention has made JonathanJon Pe to his classmates at the SMAK 1 BPK High School at Penabur Jakartafeel quite anxious. He never thought himself to be a genius. Being the absolute winner, in his estimation, was just pure luck. He also attributes it to the eight-month quarantine imposed by coach Yohanes Surya. If he had a choice, he would prefer to go back to his old routine: reading comic books and spending time at the PlayStation.
