THE House of Representatives (DPR) passed a revision of the Indonesian Military (TNI) Law in a plenary session at the parliament building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The regulatory amendment was fraught with controversy, from a closed-door meeting at a hotel that was later stormed by a coalition of civil society groups to the inclusion of new provisions that revive the military’s dual function.
