Cases involving manipulation of funds from the Farmers Credit Association (KUT) keep popping up. Corrupt officials and Self-supporting Institutions (LSM) are cited as the main culprits.

Not just during the New Order regime, but also in the reform era, the fate of farmers remains lamentable. Evidently not only have officials been involved in misappropriation of funds from various capital assistance schemes for farmers, but also LSMs, claiming to act in farmers’ interests, have played a substantial part.
