PIECES of bamboo, wood, and zinc sheets piled up in the backyard of Jakasetia III State Primary School in Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday afternoon, February 16. Concrete pillars of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail flyover stood at the school’s backyard. The pillars, erected in 2019, had narrowed down the size of the school’s land area.

Dede Setiana, a teacher at the school, said the area where the poles stood was occupied by a build
