Keeping The Peace
Several incidents involving weapons have taken place in Aceh. Even though a few have died, the peace is not in jeopardy.

IT has been almost two months since the peace agreement between the Republic of Indonesia (RI) and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) was signed in Helsinki. Muhammad Jamil is not yet confident enough to return to his hometown in Nisam, North Aceh. Once in a while, this 50-year-old man makes a clandestine visit to his home. Even this is only for a short while. He is afraid of being spotted by members of GAM.
