New Sugar Import Licenses

THE government has already issued licenses for the import of 190,000 tons of sugar for next year. We issued the licenses today, said Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, on Friday last week. As with sugar imports last year, the right to import is shared between four registered importers.

They consist of: PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IX (import allocation 43,000 tons), PTPN X (46,000 tons), PTPN XI (53,500 tons) and PT Raja
