EVERYONE had hopes that the General Elections Commission (KPU), with its 11, specially selected members would be truly independent. Before its work was done, however, two members had already resigned: Imam Prasodjo and Mudji Sutrisno. Neither was prepared to step down as lecturers at their universities, whereas becoming a KPU member meant having no other positions.
