The press in Indonesia is being thrown back to 1931. Thats the year when the Dutch colonial government enacted the Persbreidel Ordonantie and Haatzaai Artikelen legal instruments used to paralyze the press and journalists. Last Wednesday, the Tanjung Karang District Court sentenced two journalists from the tabloid Koridor to jail for a period of nine months.
