Embezzling Haj Funds

WHEREVER there are large sums of money, there is corruption. This saying seems entirely appropriate when trying to understand the corruption scandal in the haj pilgrimage program organized by the government. An activity that involves a lot of money—around Rp1.5 trillion—and thousands of participants in a short period of time clearly presents an opportunity for corruption. It turns out that this opportunity was not passed up.
