A New Leader in Tehran

The conservative Ahmadinejad was elected President of Iran, a reflection of the people's loss of trust in their reformist leaders.

THE Iranian election took place two weeks ago. Nine candidates demonstrated their abilities before 28 million voters. The winner was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, 49. He is the Mayor of Tehran and a conservative who leads a very simple life.
