World oil prices are now lower than the price of premium gasoline in Indonesia. This is an opportunity to end the premium subsidy.

CALLS to reduce fuel prices have lately been quite strident, and for good reason. World oil prices have fallen drastically and are now below the retail price of premium gasoline set by the government. This means that Pertamina is now making a profit every time it sells premium gasoline. There should no longer be a subsidy.
