The Misguided Integration of BRIN
The merger of all research institutes into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has a political motive. It is not in compliance with the law.

THE combining of all government research institutes into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is an indication of misguided management of research in Indonesia. Independent research institutes such as the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology, which should be promoting excellence in research and innovation, have been dissolved and merged into BRIN. This decision could lead to disaster for science in this country.
