THE dispute between police generals can only be ended if President Joko Widodo is serious about putting the National Police (Polri) in order and is consistent about eradicating corruption. Jokowi must deploy all his political capital to restore the prestige of the police and improve the legal system in this country. Any failure to make use of the momentum to reform law enforcement institutions will cause disasters in Indonesia’s future.
