The persecution of two students at Gunadarma University, Depok West Java, who had been accused of sexual violence should never have happened. The barbaric actions of students also showed the inability of the university to deal with sexual violence. At the same time, the Gunadarma University academic leadership did not follow standard procedures already in place for managing cases of sexual violence.
