Goodbye, Territorial Function

The Indonesian Military (TNI) has stated it will no longer function in territorial affairs in the future. Why not drop that function right now?

Debates on military functions have been going on for long. In Indonesia they started when graduates from the Dutch military academy disagreed with their colleagues who were educated in the Japanese military academy in the late 1940s. The group under Abdul Haris Nasution was oriented to the western tradition of democracy while the group of General Sudirman leaned toward the fascist regime in Japan.
