The changeover ceremony for the position of National Police chief has gone smoothly. Thursday last week, Comr. Gen. Da'i Bachtiar was officially appointed National Police chief by President Megawati.  Da'i replaces Gen. Surojo Bimantoro, who reached pensionable age on 30 November.  Prior to this Da'i was Chief of the National Coordinating Boards Against Narcotics.  The changeover ceremony conducted at the State Palace was respe
