COMPARED to other regencies in Riau province, Kampar is not well-known and not as rich as the other regencies. In this area, there are no big companies. In the mining sector, Kampar cannot boast of any resources except C class mining, i.e. pebbles and sand. But despite the lack of mining resources and big-scale industries, Kampar and its 532,236 population survives. Its economy is driven solely by its people.
