Disappointed with Pancoran Riverside Developer
I AM disappointed with Graha Rayhan Tri Putra, developer of the Pancoran Riverside apartments in East Jakarta, for at least two reasons. First, I was asked to pay a Rp790,000 fine on the day of the presentation of my apartment key. Second, the key should have been given to me on January 26, but it was delayed for a month.
Correction from Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Affairs
WE wish to correct the article titled Internal Affairs published in Tempo's February 1 edition. The article read, "Paloh asked Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno to carry out the process. Rather than consult with the president, Tedjo, who is chairman of the National Police Commission, contacted Sutarman and Badrodin to get Suhardi Alius dismissed."
Right of Reply Addendum
I ask Tempo magazine to publish this addendum in connection with an article from Tempo's edition of December 1-7 titled Battling Bootleggers. This response is in accordance with the agreement reached and included in the Minutes of the Resolution of a Complaint brought by KPPBC TMP A Marunda Office Head Ahmad Dedi against Tempo and heard by the Press Council on January 12.
Access Blocked
ACCESS from Jalan Kemukus to the Kunir Jaya Indah Housing Complex in West Jakarta has been closed to traffic since last year. As a result, traffic jams have been a daily occurrence. Worse still, a six-meter-long pedestrian walkway in the area has also been closed by the owner of a storage building.
We residents of Kunir Jaya Indah Housing Complex have reported the closure of the pedestrian walkway to the West Jakarta mayor and to then Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. Early last year the West Jakarta Spatial Planning Office revoked the storage building's permit. When the owner balked at the move, the West Jakarta mayor ordered the dismantling of the building. To date the building remains in place. I do not know to whom else we should bring this case.
To the Finance Minister and the Bank Indonesia Governor
I AM seeking enlightenment from the Finance Minister and the governor of Bank Indonesia: Is it ethical or halal (permissible for Muslims) for a bank to declare that money deposited by an account holder has been used up, just like that?
