Freeport Operation Extended for 20 Years
Freeport Indonesia's license to mine in its Papuan project area is to be extended for a further 20 years. This assurance follows Freeport's agreement to speed up the process of renegotiating its Contract of Work (CoW) into a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) before the contract expires in 2021.

Petral To Be Shuttered
Pertamina CEO Dwi Soetjipto has begun the process of liquidating its subsidiary, the Petral Group. The process is pending the result of an investigation set to complete in April 2016. "Petral's role in Pertamina's business is no longer significant," he commented last Wednesday.
