Explanation from Atma Jaya University
RESPONDING to a letter in Tempo's October 26, 2015, edition titled A Letter for the Director-General of Higher Education, we from the Atma Jaya Catholic University (Unika Atma Jaya) wish to explain the guidelines regarding tuition. Although the letter was directed to the Director-General for Higher Education, we feel the need to explain because our name was mentioned.
A Letter for the Director-General of Higher Education
During the university new students' admission test this year, our son managed to be accepted at Unika Atma Jaya Jakarta medical faculty through its JBT program. His name is Raimundo Antonio Patangke. We have paid his tuition fee in four installments from December 2014 to May 2015, for a total of Rp138,510,000.
Traces of the CIA
I had the opportunity to read Tempo on the airplane during a trip out of town about Nothing but The Truth, albeit only a small part of it. I was drawn to this sentence: "In this issue, we feature the mysterious involvement of foreign intelligence in the darkest chapter of Indonesian history."
Responding to R.J. Lino
IN Tempo October 5-11, 2015 edition, there was an interview with R.J. Lino, Chief Director of Pelindo II. We would like to set straight the interview mainly after the 29th question. What the Coordinating Minster for Maritime and Resources, Rizal Ramli, did by demolishing concrete that was covering railroad tracks so that the train can enter the Tanjung Priok harbor. The demolition was conducted to execute government policy. The closing of railway tract by Pelindo II without the consent of Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) can not be justified. This was not denied by R.J. Lino in the interview.
An Open Letter from an Illegal Student
I come from Kalikur village, a remote place in Lembata, along the coast of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. It is so isolated that reaching my village alone is a difficult task. I am an unofficial student at the 'illegal' university, Yayasan Aldiana Nusantara, which recently became a hot topic of discussion by the public and in the media.
Disappointed by Metland
AS one of the owners of Hotel Horison Seminyak, Bali, I am very disappointed by Metland management who has not delivered the hotel's ownership certificate despite their promises. I have settled my purchase of one unit of the hotel in December 2012. I paid the land and building acquisition fees (BPHTB) and notarial deed on January 2015.
