Rosan Roeslani Is New Kadin Chief
Rosan Perkasa Roeslani was announced as the new chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) for the 2015-2020 period at the national congress held at the Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung, November 24. Garnering 102 votes, he beat Rachmat Gobel who won just 27 votes in a voting that ended just before midnight. Rosan succeeds Suryo Bambang Sulisto.

Pertamina Profits Drop
Pertamina has announced US$914 million (approximately Rp12.5 billion) in profits in the third quarter of 2015. The figure is a 47 percent decline compared to last year. Pertamina's finance director Arif Budiman said the decline in the company's performance had mainly been triggered by the falling rupiah rate against the US dollar, as well as plummeting world oil prices. "We're not out of the woods yet because of the exchange rate fluctuation," he said last week.

Pertamina Lowers jet fuel Price
Pertamina has lowered the price of avtur jet fuel by 5.23 percent. The price decrease is effective for purchases at Soekarno-Hatta Airport starting October 1, 2015. "It's an initial step for avtur price adjustments in Indonesia," said a spokesperson for the state oil and gas company, Wianda Pusponegoro, on Wednesday last week.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla says the government may need to import rice in anticipation of the El Nino impact. "This is about the drought. We do not want to sacrifice the public (welfare), that is why we will allow import possibilities to begin as soon as possible," he said after chairing a meeting last week.
