A Laotian choreographer performed at the Helatari Salihara 2023 event synergizing hip-hop moves with dance steps from his own traditions.

HIS hands moved in a slow gesture. With the accompaniment of classical music, he looked as if he was doing a warm-up to relax his hand muscles. He stepped stiffly and slowly in the controlled trademark hip-hop gait. He then commenced to walk in a loose circle in a challenging stance to onlookers.
