Musings: The Fear of Belief

WHAT I often fail to understand in people, even those who are urban and educated, is their increasing preoccupation with beliefs. The most obvious of course with beliefs that have through the manipulations of history, turned into religions—religions which, in turn, have transformed themselves into identities as real as the color of the skin or the language that we speak.
