THE food, fuel and forests crisis we face today concern issues of justice that run across and between current and future generations. For starters, about 1 percent of the world’s population controls 40 percent of its wealth, and this group’s consumption is expanding at a rapid pace, depleting resources, and leaving a pittance for the bottom half of the world
