IN Banda Aceh, people refer to the house on the edge of the main road of Jl. T. Nyak Arief as the head office of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). Although used openly by guerrillas as a headquarters, the house is far from having a grim appearance. The premises have no signboard or military regalia, there are instead, childrens swings and paintings and it appears to be sharing a yard with a kindergarten.
