FOR over four years Mohammad Natsir was in Wisma Keagungan, a detention facility in Kota, Central Jakarta. The Old Order regime had locked him up for “going against the flow” by establishing the Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PRRI) in 1958. He had previously been held for two years in Batu, East Java.
