The Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School claims to be the embodiment of the Indonesian Islamic State concept. Other followers of Kartosoewirjo say it is a deviant sect.

According to the plan, the minaret of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Mosque in the complex of the Al-Zaytun Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) is to stand 145 meters high. However, so far, it is only half that height. The Chinese and Spanish marble which is to cover the minaret is still not available.
