Pertamina must cover the difference in Pertalite and diesel fuel’s prices as the government is late in paying compensation. The state oil company is resorting to debt securities to make up for its deficit.

THE agenda for the meeting between House of Representative (DPR) Energy Commission and Pertamina was revised last minute. On Tuesday, August 23, the DPR should have held a hearing with Pertamina’s management at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, to discuss the thinning supply of Pertalite gasoline. Instead, Pertamina and the DPR held a closed meeting the next day at the Artotel Mangkuluhur City, Karet Semanggi, South Jakarta.
