Puan Maharani’s visit to a home for lepers in Surakarta, Central Java, during the campaign for the 2009 legislative election was initially scheduled to last just 5-10 minutes. According to Bambang Wuryanto, Chair of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Campaign Team, this was because Puan was nervous about visiting the facility.
