Jokowi seems to be of two minds as the 2024 General Elections approach. He encourages presidential candidates to campaign and does not outright reject the idea of a presidential term extension.

A YEAR before the holding of the 2024 General Elections, it is not clear who President Joko Widodo supports as a presidential candidate. The president often encourages cabinet ministers, governors and the general chairmen of political parties to campaign as presidential candidates. However, Jokowi also gives the impression that he is allowing the idea of a presidential term extension to gather steam.
