The Factors in Golkar’s Increasing Votes in 2024 General Elections

THE Golkar Party has been having a windfall in the 2024 General Elections. Although its chairman Airlangga Hartarto failed to become a presidential/vice-presidential candidate, the number of seats won by the party rose significantly. Together with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Golkar will have more than 100 seats in the House of Representatives (DPR), an increase of more than 15 seats compared to the 2019 General Elections.
