Rice Imports Stopped
RICE imports have been stopped until the end of this year. It is estimated, according to Minister of Agriculture Anton Apriantono, that by the end of the year the production of unhusked rice will be on target, that is to say 53 million tons. The Department of Agriculture estimates that apparently there will be a surplus of some 1.6 million tons of rice.
