THE government's efforts in lobbying Putera Sampoerna to invest the proceeds of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk.'s sale back in Indonesia seem to bear fruit. After 40 percent of the Sampoerna family shares in the company were sold to Phillip Morris International Inc. in April 2005, Sampoerna is all set to try its luck in the toll road business. No wonder, the proceeds from the sale were US$2 billion or approximately Rp18.6 trillion.
