THE rupiah continued to free fall for two days at the beginning of last week despite the dollar becoming weaker in a number of money markets around the world after Hurricane Katrina had run amok. It was only in the middle of the week that the rupiahs luck changed, as it was pushed higher by the increase in the interest rate for promissory notes (SBI) issued by Bank Indonesia (BI) which is now 10 percent.
