AFTER the disappointing economic policy package (Tempo, September 5, 2005), the government has anticipated a rise in fuel prices. Its calculations and schemes have begun to be exposed in the House of Representatives (DPR).

Minister of Finance Jusuf Anwar disclosed that fuel prices were expected to increase next month. In October, the burden [of budget subsidies] can be reduced, said Jusuf.
