THE demonstration by members of the Bank Mandiri workers’ union three weeks ago was not really that exciting. Apart from the fact that it was carried out on a non-working day, Saturday, only a few people were actually involved in the demonstration at Banteng Square, Central Jakarta. Out of the total of 21,000 employees at Bank Mandiri, only around 200 took part in the demonstration.
