Bulog is close to meeting the rice procurement target after Thailand cancels deals with Indonesia.

HALF of the burden borne by Bulog chief Sutarto Alimoeso has been lifted. His job of procuring 3.5 million tons of rice is close to attainment. The director of the state logistics agency now can take a deep breath. Of 1.6 million tons of rice targeted for import this year, 1.35 million has been assured. The target for this year will be met, Sutarto told Tempo in Jakarta last week.
