Farmers in several regions are disadvantaged by the tobacco trading system. Companies and middlemen buy harvests at low prices.
IN the past four years, Sunarsono’s tobacco plantation already has a buyer, even before harvest time. This farmer from the Kembang village in Bondowoso Regency, East Java, has a contract with Sadhana Arifnusa. He has a quota to deliver two tons of tobacco leaves to the company.
