EVEN though they both use gas-steam power, the two power plants have different fates. The trial run of the Tambak Lorok Block 3 Gas-Steam Power Plant (PLTGU) in Semarang, Central Java, has been successful. Meanwhile, the Java 1 PLTGU in Cilamaya, Karawang, West Java, failed to function despite using the same engine as Tambak Lorok, which is made by General Electric (GE).
