PERTAMINA’s ambition to buy crude oil from Russia has fallen silent since May last year. In February, during a parliamentary hearing with Pertamina, the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Energy Commission member Ramson Siagian questioned Pertamina’s claims. “Why aren’t we buying from Russia?” the Gerindra Party politician asked Pertamina Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nicke Widyawati.
