Four Ways of Carbon Trading at Carbon Exchange

The Indonesian Stock Exchange established four carbon trading mechanisms. There were 27 transactions in three schemes in the initial sale.

THE Indonesian Stock Exchange or IDX started the trade of carbon units through the IDXCarbon on Tuesday, September 26. Since the IDX holds control of the carbon exchange, all carbon units are traded as securities. Prior to the exchange, carbon transactions in Indonesia were still voluntary. In fact, Presidential Regulation No. 98/2021 on the Implementation of Carbon Economic Value mandates the establishment of a mandatory market.
